Elite Products for Active Families

Text by Ann Marie Scheidler - Spring 2007 Edition

Athlitequest Article PhotoWhat happens when two totally different career paths collide?  A unique concept is born that can take the footprint of your property and transform into an athletic wonderland.

A few years ago, one of Chad Wisneski’s clients contacted him about installing a refrigerated ice rink in their backyard. The winter of 2005 was cold—but not cold enough to make your own ice rink nor skate in the public parks.  Having played hockey and working in the hockey industry most of my life, I did some research and discovered that with the proper design and product, we could actually install one,” recalls Chad.

And from there, AthletiQuest was born. Chad’s background and expertise in sales & athletic training was partnered with Fred Hektor whose 20 plus years in the construction business, the sky was only limited by how big a client could dream.

Chad and Fred are driven by the desire to help families spend good quality time together. “We want to help our clients live healthier lives. So when we work with clients, we like to come up with fun activities that will create opportunities for a family to spend time together with healthy benefits in the process,” says Chad.

AthletiQuest has researched and hand selected the top line of products in each industry. They can transform the inside of your home into a health spa with indoor gym courts, saunas, swim spas, bowling lanes and synthetic ice for the ultimate in convenience.  How about the newest in interactive video games?  Their multi-sport simulator puts you in the game against a ten foot video screen to play against the pros in soccer, baseball, hockey, basketball, football and of course…..golf!  Add the latest and greatest in air and water purification and have a customized balanced diet and you and your family will be on your way to a healthier way of life.

If you’re partial to the outdoors, AthletiQuest can customize your backyard with year round multi-sport athletic courts, batting cages, and maintenance free synthetic chipping/putting greens.  Through innovative technology, summer basketball/tennis courts can be converted to an ice rink in the winter with a flip of a switch and a few hundred gallons of water.   Notably they can maintain a sheet of ice from late November to mid March for skating in weather up to 55 degrees!

“AthletiQuest is allowing people to create country club like settings within the confines of their own backyards and homes,” says Chad.

When someone wants to take on a project like an outdoor basketball court or one of AthletiQuest’s ultimate tree houses (a one of a kind tree house that comes with its own tree), they only need to make one call. “We really are a one-stop shop,” explains Fred. “Because of our expertise in athletics and construction, our in-house staff can manage the project from the design phase, through construction and landscape, to long-term maintenance. Once a client signs off on the idea, it’s up to AthletiQuest to get the job done.”

AthletiQuest has its own licensed, bonded, and insured installers and guarantees all work when completed. “It’s important for our clients and future clients to know that we are local residents who want to do the job right the first time, because we really care about their satisfaction.  Our customized approach means treating families individually and meeting their specific goals”.  says Fred.

Year to date sales on their refrigerated ice rinks have been climbing steady with the warmer Chicagoland temperatures.  “We worked around the clock to get one of our customers an ice rink for their kids to skate on Thanksgiving Day and came through as promised”. Orders for the fall of 2007 are rolling in and they anticipate installing over 20 new rinks this year.
