Phase 4: Employee Training, Orientation, Policies, Procedures
IRCC will provide onsite training of the complex staff and provide them the written and operational tools to effectively carry out the successful training of its management team. Proven methods adopted throughout the arena industry will be implemented to provide maximum sales effect with strong customer service, efficiency in staffing and resources, and proactive risk abatement procedures in all matters of operational execution.
The management team will be orientation along structured methods supported by written documentation and forms for the repetitive and reliable standards needed to ensure the best possibilities for success of the complex and satisfaction of its patrons. Upper management will be guided through each of the following areas of management planning:
- Preparation of an employee manual.
- Staffing & Recruiting
- Identifying ongoing industry resources and organizational support.
- Formulation of operating policies and procedures, and preparation of all manuals.
- Hire and train management and staff in all phases of rink operation as necessary.
- Preparation of budgets per arena operating department.
- Establishment of cash collection and control procedures.
- Design of financial records and reports, and procedures for their preparation and publication regarding arena operations.
- Design and preparation of contract forms for skating professionals (Instructors, Teachers, Coaches, etc.).
- Design and preparation of contract forms for concessionaires.
- Design and preparation of contract forms for use in any and/or all parts of the rink for activities such as figure skating, hockey, broomball, etc. or any other non-public uses.
- Design and preparation of contract forms for use of the rink for special events, exhibitions, or shows.
- Assist in the procurement of furniture, fixtures, accessories, etc.
- Establish Sport Shop inventory, pricing, and setup.
- Establish all rink inventory control procedures.
- Establishment of policies and procedures for maintenance and upkeep.
- Develop advertising, promotions and public relations, prior to rink opening, to include all "Grand Opening" and ongoing marketing strategies.
- Identify unique activities and needs within the market which will increase revenues, i.e. off season uses for additional interior and exterior space for inline, indoor soccer/volleyball, teen club, etc.
- Recommend signage for the facility.
- Preparation of brochures and other printed promotional materials.
- Set up program formats and schedules for skating school, private lessons, group lessons, private ice use, special events and exhibitions.
- Implement safety and security procedures.
